Before registering for New Student Orientation, you must complete the following steps as a new Spartan.
Step One
Access your NSU student email account, visit First-time Students webpage. For assistance logging into your student email account contact clientservices@nsu.edu or call 757-823-8678.
Step Two
All incoming students must provide proof of required vaccinations in accordance with state regulations and university policy. Submit your records to spartanhealthclinic@nsu.edu to avoid an account hold, and contact the Spartan Health Clinic at (757) 278-3360 with any questions. Step three
All students must obtain a student identification card, also known as a SpartanCard. Students attending Norfolk State University will have the opportunity to send in a photo for their SpartanCard. Students must complete the Online Photo Submission form at SpartanCard Online Photo Submission or download the Online Form. For more information check-out the SpartanCard webpage.
Step four
Transfer Students (only). Transfer Confidential Dean’s Report
Transfer Students are required to submit the Dean’s Report to their last school attended Dean of Student’s department. The form must be completed and submitted to the Office of Transfer Admissions & Services at transfer@nsu.edu or Fax (757) 823-2054 in order to complete course registration.
- Please note students must also submit Official Final College transcript if courses were still in progress.
STEP FIVE
- Please note before registering for New Student Orientation, you must review and complete the items on the Admitted Student Checklist.
- To register for NSO log into your Application Portal.
- To log in to your Application Portal, please utilize the username and password you created to log into your NSU Application. These credentials are separate from your MyNSU credentials.
