Bio
Dr. Tamara Smith-Moyler is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education (EESE). She brings extensive experience to her role, having taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as special education law, compliance, and collaboration; specially designed instruction; methods for teaching reading and mathematics to diverse learners; and leadership in mathematics education. Dr. Smith-Moyler has over 25 years of experience in education. Prior to joining NSU, she served 10 years as an Educational Specialist for Mathematics at the Virginia Department of Education and 5 years as an adjunct professor. She also spent 15 years as a Mathematics Specialist and classroom teacher.
