Biography:
Dr. Samuel BO Olatunbosun is a full time professor of Computer Science at Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia since August 2016. Prior to that, he was a Professor of Computer Information Systems and Program Chair at Ferrum College, Virginia, a 4-year liberal arts college in South West Virginia for nearly ten years. He has taught a variety of computer science based courses from programming in Java, C++, and Visual Basic as well as advanced concept courses in software engineering, computer architecture, systems analysis and Design, data structures, structured programming, and cyber security at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has supervised several undergraduate research projects as well as advised graduate students in several areas of computer science and information systems. His most recent summer research work in 2017 as a research fellow with two NSU students was at the University of Houston Borders, Trade, and Immigration (BTI) Center where Cyber-attack strikes and patterns from the sub-Saharan African continent were investigated and where a special database was created for that purpose. He has also conducted research studies in the area of digital forensics with emphasis in mobile portable devices.

Dr. Olatunbosun has attended and presented at several academic and professional conferences both in the United States and abroad. On campuses, he has developed several new undergraduate courses as well as managed the Computer Science Program for the last seven years in terms of program evaluation and assessment, curriculum development, program alignment with professional bodies including SACSOCS and ABET. Other roles with active participation include mentoring new faculty and chairing several academic committees. In addition to full time teaching, he also currently serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies and CS program coordinator for the Computer Science Department at Norfolk State University.
