Langley Federal Credit Union Expands Committment to NSU
June 03, 2025 — Langley Federal Credit Union is expanding its partnership with Norfolk State University (NSU), extending its support through 2030 and increasing its total financial commitment to $200,000 through the Langley Scholars Demand Fund. This marks a $25,000 increase from the original pledge and reflects Langley’s deepened investment in the success and future impact of the NSU community. Read the article
Act of Generosity Leads to Outpouring of Support
May 14, 2025 — Award-winning actress, producer, activist and author Sheryl Lee Ralph served as a special guest at Norfolk State University’s 114th Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 10 at William “Dick” Price Stadium. Ralph, who gave remarks following a speech by Senior Class President Zay’Kori Jones, had a desire to see the Class of 2025 meet its $5000 fundraising goal to support the University. Read the article
Boyd Gaming Pledges $1Million to NSU
May 09, 2025 — Boyd Gaming today pledged $1 million to Norfolk State University in support of the Tourism & Hospitality Management program in the University’s School of Business. As part of Boyd’s pledge agreement to the University, Boyd will become the title sponsor of the Boyd Gaming Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management. Read the article
NSU to Offer Virginia's First College Course on Gaming Management
April 28, 2025 — Norfolk State University will offer the course Introduction to Gaming Management (THM-290-90) for the Fall, 2025 Semester which runs from August 16, 2025, until December 5, 2025. This is a three-credit course taught completely online through the Business School’s Tourism and Hospitality Management program. The course presents an overview of the gaming industry, including scope, staffing, security, control, taxation, government regulations, and its interface with hotel operations. Also included is coverage of the social, economic and cultural impacts of gaming on the host community. Read the article
NSU Celebrates $400,000 TowneBank Gift
February 28, 2025 — Norfolk State University is thrilled to announce a generous $400,000 gift from TowneBank in support of our student-athletes. The presentation was made during a special reception at the Chrysler Museum Friday, February 28, where the University also welcomed new head football coach Michael Vick. The TowneBank Endowed Athletic Success Fund will provide current and endowed essential scholarship support for student-athletes. Read the article

Norfolk State University Kicks Off Multimillion Dollar Fundraising Campaign
September 17, 2024 — Norfolk State University launched the public phase of its most ambitious fundraising campaign in University history Saturday, September 14, 2024. The comprehensive campaign has a goal of $90 million and will culminate during the University’s 90th anniversary in 2025. It is only Norfolk State’s second major campaign.
