Praxis Lab

Praxis Lab

Come in and enhance your skills!

The Virginia State Department of Education has put in place policies that require pre-service teacher education candidates to pass Praxis I. The Praxis Lab was created to enhance the basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills of Norfolk State University Teacher Education students to successfully pass the VCLA, Core Academic Skills for Educators tests using Learning Express and Plato software programs.

Procedures

All students must contact their advisor or course professor requiring the student to gain access to Plato-Praxis Core-VCLA-Praxis II testing software. The advisor/professor will register the students' Name, Student ID, and Email address via class roster. By default, students will be enrolled to take the Plato Praxis Core Skills (Reading, Writing, and Math), VCLA, and Plato Praxis II tests.

Professors or advisors who would like usage of the Praxis Lab for their classes can make a request by contacting the Associate Dean, Dr. Jerrold Roy, to schedule days and times.
