COVID-19

Students

Norfolk State University Counseling Center is here for you while you adjust to the new normal caused by COVID-19. We are sensitive to the impact that current stressors and multiple unexpected changes could have on your sense of wellbeing and we will continue to be committed to providing supportive services for you.

Counseling and Crisis Services:
In addition to in-person services, students have access to virtual services via a confidential video-conferencing platform.  Services include individual and group counseling, outreach & workshops, crisis intervention, and consultation.  To schedule an appointment contact the Counseling Center at (757) 823-8173 or visit the Counseling Center in the Student Services Center, Suite 312.

As always, crisis services for after business hours and weekends are available by calling (757) 823-8102 if you are physically located in the state of Virginia and the National Suicide Hotline at  988 or 1-800-273-8255 if you are physically located outside of Virginia.  Students can access TimelyCare for mental health support no matter the location.  Simply download the TimelyCare app to access services.  *For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 right away.

*Based on professional ethics and state laws, Norfolk State University clinicians will not be able to provide counseling services to students that are physically located outside of Virginia.
