Bio: Dr. Trevor M. Clark is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Interdisciplinary Studies at Norfolk State University. His interdisciplinary scholarship integrates public policy, public health, data analytics, and inferential statistical methods to examine complex social and community issues.
Prior to joining Norfolk State University, Dr. Clark worked in municipal government through a partnership between a nationally recognized private research university and a philanthropic organization, applying data analytics and policy research to support the mayor of one of the largest cities in the United States. Previously, he served at the U.S. Department of Labor as Branch Chief of Scheduling and Jurisdiction and Supervisory Statistician, where he led statistical and analytical work supporting national enforcement scheduling, jurisdictional decision-making, and the development and implementation of data-driven methodologies. In this leadership role, he supervised a team of statisticians and contributed to the use of quantitative evidence to inform federal regulatory and enforcement operations.
Dr. Clark's broader professional experience spans federal and local government, consulting, higher education, public policy, and applied data analytics. He was selected as a Deloitte Excellence Fellow in recognition of his professional performance and contributions across engagements with federal and state government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector companies. He has authored more than 25 scholarly publications. His research interests center on public health, public policy, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and the application of inferential statistical methods to complex social and community issues.
Dr. Clark received the 2023 Top Research Abstract Award for the Human Rights Forum at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting and Expo and was selected as a Community Research Fellow with the Mississippi Health Institute.
A five-time HBCU graduate, Dr. Clark holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health and Human Sciences from Morgan State University, an M.P.H. in Biostatistics and Quantitative Research Methods from Virginia Union University, an M.P.A. in Public Policy and a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas Southern University, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Bowie State University.
