James is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Norfolk State University. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Iowa in 2016. His dissertation focused on complex dynamics and reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, in particular, a kernel function construction on the Fatou set of a given rational map.
An enthusiastic collaborator, James’ research interests have grown to include differential equations, epidemiological modeling, combinatorics, community detection, and machine learning.
