Jerry “J.B. Smoove” Brooks
Jerry “J.B. Smoove” Brooks is an award-winning writer, comedian, and actor, who continues to entertain audiences worldwide with his unique brand of comedy. comedy. His breakout role in Curb Your Enthusiasm as Leon Black earned him a SAG nomination as part of the series ensemble cast in 2018 and an NAACP Image Award nomination in 2012.
Brooks attended Norfolk State University and started his entertainment career in standup comedy. In 2003, Smoove landed a coveted writing position on NBC’s iconic sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. During his fourth year on the show, Smoove received a 2007 Writers Guild award for “Best Comedy/Variety Series” for his work.
