Buildings & Operations
Norfolk State University targets achieving net zero energy for future campus buildings. This involves designing structures that produce as much energy as they consume through renewable energy sources and energy-efficient systems. Retrofitting existing buildings will also be a priority to reduce overall energy consumption utilizing the Regenerative design concepts. Norfolk State University will pursue certifications like LEED to benchmark progress toward these goals. LEED Zero buildings represent a key element in the university's long-term sustainability efforts.
