Bio
Dr. Jonita Shabazz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education (EESE). She is an experienced educator and instructional leader, leading initiatives in literacy education, evidence-based practices, curriculum alignment, and professional development. Dr. Shabazz has over 20 years of experience in education. Prior to joining the School of Education at NSU, she served in multiple roles within public school divisions, including classroom teacher, reading specialist, administrator, and coordinator of English instruction.
