Dr. Kehinde is a quantitative psychologist and educational measurement researcher whose work centers on understanding and improving student learning, well-being, and success. His research addresses critical educational and psychological measurement issues, with a focus on helping students navigate and overcome psychological centrifugal forces such as cyberspace (trauma), diminished motivation, and resilience challenges that can disrupt effective learning and cognition. At the core of his scholarship is a commitment to fairness and assessment practices that support student success, retention, persistence, and timely graduation.
Dr. Kehinde advances these goals through the development, adaptation, and validation of educational and psychological assessment instruments, as well as the application of advanced quantitative methods, including psychometric modeling and machine learning techniques, to analyze large-scale educational and psychological data. As a data-driven scholar and mentor, he is deeply committed to training the next generation of researchers and practitioners. At Norfolk State University, he leads student mentorship and collaborative research through Trauma & Resilience Assessment and Measurement (TRAM) Research Group, a scholarly initiative dedicated to advancing the science of trauma assessment through innovative psychological measurement across education, psychology, and interdisciplinary domains, with a focus on enhancing the accuracy, fairness, and cultural responsiveness of trauma-related assessments.
His scholarly contributions have been disseminated at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kehinde actively invites motivated students with interests in psychology, education, data science, and social impact to engage with his research program and contribute to this meaningful body of work.
