Advocate for the Continued Improvement of Graduate Education
The Office of Graduate Studies administers the University's nineteen (19) graduate programs in the School of Education, College of Liberal Arts, School of Social Work, and College of Science, Engineering and Technology. The Office of Graduate Studies is responsible to the Provost for the development and maintenance of high quality graduate programs.

The Office of Sponsored Programs
The mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs is to shepherd programs and funds into and through the University and to assist the University in developing and maintaining the intellectual base required to attract external funding. This Office seeks, pursues, solicits and manages funding opportunities for research and other sponsored program activities university-wide.                                                                                                                

NSU Research: From Inquiry to Innovation and Education
The research enterprise is paramount at Norfolk State University. With a focus on finding practical solutions to complex problems, research permeates the curriculum and emphasizes minority student participation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. NSU students, faculty and staff provide leading expertise and contribute to shape the future in a range of fields from materials to biotechnology, to modeling, to simulation and computing, to the arts and the social sciences. NSU is home to several centers and institutes, where the researchers collaborate across disciplines to discover innovative answers and approaches to challenging problems.
