Biography:
Dr. Yen-Hung (Frank) Hu is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science (CSC) at Norfolk State University (NSU); a faculty member in the NSU Information Assurance Research and Education Development Institute (IA-REDI); and a faculty researcher in the NSU Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity (funded by DoD), and NSU K-20 Consortium Enabling Cybersecurity Opportunities & Research (CECOR) Project (funded by DoE). Prior to joining NSU, he was the Director of Information Assurance Center at Hampton University (IAC@HU), PI of the NSF CyberCorps:SFS HU GETS-IA program, and full-time faculty member in the CSC department at Hampton University. He has participated in several funded grants and attended many IA research and education workshops/conferences including NSA IA CAE principals meeting, NIST Cryptographic Key Management workshop, Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE), and other NSF funded IA related workshops. His research focuses on computer and network security, trustworthy computing, Internet traffic modeling, secure coding, and machine learning. He has authored/co-authored many publications and made numerous professional presentations. Dr. Hu received his Doctor of Science degree in Computer Science from the George Washington University in 2004. He also has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Southeastern University, a Master of Science degree in Applied Chemistry from National Chiao-Tung University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from National Sun Yat-Sen University.
