The Cayuse research suite will be NSU's online portal for research and sponsored projects starting in the fall of 2025. The suite provides a centralized, cloud-based system with solutions covering the entire research lifecycle from start to finish. Principal Investigators (PIs) will have centralized tracking for all tasks and intuitive help features through the resource center. Research administrators can save time submitting proposals and managing sponsored projects, increase collaboration with PIs, and speed up compliance protocol review process.
NSU currently has the following products from Cayuse:
- The Cayuse Platform, the foundation upon which all other applications are built.
- Proposals (S2S), a standalone proposal preparation and submission management application that allows fast, accurate completion and submission of grant proposals.
- Sponsored Projects, a management application that provides full support across the research lifecycle, tracking project submissions from inception through close-out and linking to workflows across all applications to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Fund Manager, a financial management application that includes PI Portal, Projections, and Security. It allows PIs to gain visibility into the entire sponsored project funding portfolio; report on spend-down, encumbered, or accrued expenses; and run projections/what-if scenarios.
- Project Effort, a time and effort certification and reporting software for full compliance with federal effort certification and payroll verification mandate. It provides flexibility to import payroll and other relevant data for automated effort monitoring and certification.
The above products will be implemented in stages. The Cayuse Platform and Proposals (S2S) will be available when the Fall 2025 semester starts. Sponsored Projects, Fund Manager, and Project Effort modules will be fully functional by the end of 2025. Additional products or services may be purchased and implemented later.
