Keela A. Boose is a professor of English, Toni Morrison and Zora Neale Hurston scholar, and poet. She combines literature, film, and music to create immersive experiences for students. Professor Boose is an active committee member with the William Carroll Writers Festival, the Pilot Program for Transformative Texts in Composition, and the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. She has been a conference organizer, workshop panelist, and featured author for various book signings, including one for Black History Month at Norfolk State University organized by the late ENFL professor Dr. Barbara McCall in 2005. Her most recent video poem, "Born of an HBCU," was a well-received homage to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Her video poem, "In Celebration of African American Women," was released in February 2022.
