What is a Learning Community at NSU?

An LC is a group of first-year students who share a common living space, take classes together, and participate in activities throughout the year based on common interests or major.

Is there an additional housing cost associated with living in a Learning Community?

No, you will pay the same rate for your room as listed on the Housing and Residence Life website.

What are expectations for students living in a Learning Community?

Students in a Learning community are required to take a course or course cluster together in the Fall and Spring semester. In addition, students are required to participate in events, activities, or field trips.

Learning Communities provide a fun way to make close friends and participate in programs and opportunities across campus and beyond.

How do I sign-up to be in a Learning Community?

Express interest in being a part of the Learning Communities program on the housing application. You will receive a Learning Communities Application to complete from the Learning Communities Office. If you have expressed interest in the Learning Communities program and have not received an application by May 15, 2020, please contact us learningcommunities@nsu.edu
