What Students Need to Apply

Required Documents

  • Official High School Transcript

    Submitted by High School Counselor.
     
  • Official SAT College Board or ACT test scores

    When registering for the test, request that scores be sent to Norfolk State University.

  • Letters of Recommendation

    1 letter of recommenation from a Teacher and 1 from a Guidance Counselor
  • International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement Credits

    Procedure for Requesting IB and AP Credit
    Student must request official IB and AP examination scores be sent directly to Norfolk State University, Office of Admissions.
                                                   
    The Office of Admissions will evaluate the scores
     The Office of Admissions will generate the Certificate of Advanced Standing (CAS) that will be sent to the student and the selected academic department within six weeks of receipt.

A minimum of 22 credits

  • 4 English
  • 3 Mathematics*
  • 3 Science
  • 3 History and Social Science
  • 2 Health and Physical Education
  • 1 Fine Arts or Practical Arts
  • 6 Electives
  • 22 Credits        

*Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II

Application Deadline
The priority deadline is May 31 for undergraduate admission.
