Next Steps for Admitted Freshmen and Transfer Students
Congratulations on your acceptance Norfolk State University! We believe that you will be an excellent addition to the Spartan family and we are excited to welcome you to campus. Follow this checklist to complete the enrollment process:
Step 01
Access Student Email & MyNSU
Your student log-in credentials to access your email and MyNSU account will be emailed within 5-7 business days of you receiving your acceptance email. Read more about how to access MyNSU.

Financial Aid Application and Award Status
Step 03
Confirm Your Enrollment
Enrollment Deposit: To confirm your intent to enroll, you will need to submit a non-refundable $100 enrollment fee. All first-time incoming students are required to pay the enrollment fee.
Orientation Fee: All new undergraduate students are assessed a mandatory one-time, non-refundable orientation fee of $100 for their first semester of enrollment.
To make payments log into the MyNSU Payment Portal and select Student Finance.
Payments are also accepted by contacting Norfolk State University's Cashier Office. You can contact them by calling 757-823-8545.

- Fall Student’s Priority Deadline: May 1st
- Spring Student’s Priority Deadline: December 1st
Step 04
Complete On-Campus Housing Application
First you need to complete the on-campus housing application and pay the $300 non-refundable housing deposit. For further housing questions, contact 757-823-8407 or housing@nsu.edu.

- Spring Student’s Priority Deadline: November 1st
Step 05
Complete & Submit Required Health Forms
Completed and submit the required health forms online at Med+Proctor. Do not submit the forms to the Spartan Health Center (757) 278-3360 or the Admissions Office.

- Spring Student’s Deadline: December 1st

Register for New Student Orientation.

Step 07
Transfer Students (only). Transfer Confidential Dean’s Report
Transfer Students are required to submit the Dean’s Report to their last school attended Dean of Student’s department. The form must be completed and submitted to the Office of Transfer Admissions & Services at transfer@nsu.edu or Fax (757) 823-2054 in order to complete course registration.
