Congratulations on your acceptance Norfolk State University! We believe that you will be an excellent addition to the Spartan family and we are excited to welcome you to campus. Follow this checklist to complete the enrollment process:

Next Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

Once you have been admitted please follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.

  • Step 1 - Access Student Email & MyNSU

    Step One: Access your university email address and student account

  • Step 2 - Confirm for Enrollment

    Step Three: Confirm your Enrollment

    Navigate to MyNSU to access the link to set-up your NSU email account. Upon completion, please click the Spartan Self-Service tab within MyNSU to pay the required deposits.   
    Payments are also accepted by calling Norfolk State University's Cashier Office.  Please call 757-823-8545 for assistance.   

    Enrollment Confirmation Deadline: May 1st

  • Step 3 - Complete On-Campus Housing Application

    Step Three: Complete the on-campus housing application

    Pay the $300 non-refundable housing deposit.

    Housing Deadline: June 1st 


  • Step 4 - Complete & Submit Required Health Forms

    Step FourComplete and submit required health forms

    Please return completed health forms to the address or fax number on the forms. Please Do Not email forms.

    Check out the Spartan Health Center for additional college health information.

    Deadline: August 1st 

  • Step 5 - Register for Transfer Orientation

  • Step 6 - Check Your Financial Aid Award/Status

Enrollment Checklist

Enrollment Checklist for Entering Freshman Students.

  • For Admission

    For admission: Submit the undergraduate application, the $25 application fee, and any required documents to Undergraduate Admissions by May 1 for priority consideration.

  • For Financial Aid

    For financial aid: You must be admitted to NSU, have the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completely processed, and have submitted any required documents to the Financial Aid Office by March 1 for priority consideration.

  • For Scholarships

    For scholarships: The scholarship application is located at .

  • Freshman Enrollment Deposit

    Freshman Enrollment Deposit: Once admitted, submit a $100 nonrefundable freshman enrollment deposit.

    Enrollment Confirmation Deadline: May 1st

  • For Housing

    For housing: : Complete the on-campus housing application and pay the non-refundable $300 deposit by June 1st (Housing will continue to accept applications until all spaces are filled). Students who may be exempt from the first-year mandatory housing requirement must submit the Request for Exemption Form by July 1st.     For orientation: Register for New Student Orientation at .

    For health services: Submit the health and immunization forms to the Spartan Student Health Center at

Now that you have paid your enrollment deposit and made arrangements for housing, your next step is to register for New Student Orientation!

New Student Orientation is a comprehensive, personal orientation program aimed at connecting you with the academic culture, campus climate, and student community at Norfolk State University. Please use the information contained in these web pages to pave your way toward an amazing student experience.
