Kapila Kottegoda

Dr. Kapila Kottegoda is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Norfolk State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Kansas State University under the supervision of Dr. Nathan Albin. Following his doctoral studies, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Data Science at Kansas State University's Olathe Campus and later as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka before joining Norfolk State University.

Dr. Kottegoda's research lies in the area of Network Science, with a particular focus on graph-theoretic quantities and their applications to secure broadcasting. He has taught a wide range of courses and is deeply committed to teaching. He believes that learning mathematics requires active engagement and views it as a collaborative effort between the student and the teacher.
