National Tests
Testing Services examination and proctor services are provided to students, faculty, staff and Hampton Roads residents; in support of improved access to higher education, student persistence and achievement, and professional advancement.
Register for Tests
To register for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), and Non-NSU exams, please contact the testing center at testingcenter@nsu.edu to indicate your preferred date and time.
Fees
All test administration fees must be paid to the NSU Cashier's office in advance of the exam and are non-refundable. There is a $30.00 test administration fee for the CLEP and DSST exams. The test administration fee for Non-NSU exams is $35.00 per hour.
The final Miller Analogies Test® (MAT) was administered November 15, 2023.
Military Benefits
Norfolk State University Testing Services is a DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) fully funded test center. The United States government offers funding for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DSST exams through DANTES. Military personnel who qualify for DANTES can take exams (first attempt only) free of charge. If you do not pass the first time, you will need to self-fund a re-test after a waiting period of 90 days.
