EXAM TIMES

Regular Hours
Regular testing hours are 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday and 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.Tuesday through  Friday.  Additional evening hours are available by appointment. Call us to learn more about "Open Lab" availability. 

After Hours for EWC Exams
Only required for students enrolled prior to fall 2016.

For your convenience, the EWC exam can be taken remotely from any location; on a day and time of your choosing. You must first register for ENG299-90 with the Registrar by emailing registrar@nsu.edu.  Please allow 24 hours, following registration, before accessing the exam. To take the exam remotely, you will need a webcam and must have administrative rights to download Respondus LockDown on your computer.

  1. Go to your ENG 299-90 Blackboard course
  2. Scroll to student resources
  3. Click on the Respondus Lockdown Browser Guide for Students.  The link to download Respondus will be included in the guide.

Testing Center Fees

All fees are to be paid directly to the NSU cashier’s office located at Student Services Center, Suite 209.  Students must present a receipt from the cashier’s office in order to test.  Following completion of the Modern States funded CLEP exam, present the receipt to Modern States for reimbursement of the administrative test fee.


Testing Center Policies

  • Testing is by appointment only; with the exception of "Open Lab" hours.
  • Testing fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
  • You must show valid unexpired picture ID (student ID, state-issued driver's license or ID, military ID, or passport).
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow for check-in.
  • If you arrive after the start of an exam you may be required to reschedule.
  • Only authorized test materials are allowed in the Testing Center.
  • Scratch paper will be provided by the Testing Center and must be turned in after completion of the test.
  • Testing results cannot be given over the phone.

Items Not Allowed in Testing Center

To maintain and enhance the integrity of the center and test-takers, the following items are not allowed in the Testing Center:

  • Hats, hoodies, bonnets or other items that cover the entire head (other than religious head coverings)
  • Backpacks/handbags
  • Digital or electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, laptops, etc.
  • Flash drives
  • Food or beverages
  • Books, notes, pens or pencils (unless approved by instructor)

Section 504

The NSU O.A.S.I.S office upholds the mandates of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American's with Disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination of individuals with disabilities and ensures that students with documented disabilities are afforded reasonable accommodations so they have equal access to campus classes, activities, and resources.
