Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and Diversity: Dr. Faith Fitzgerald
The Office of the Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and Diversity supports the mission of NSU and the Division of Student Affairs through student engagement opportunities designed to build a sense of community, cultivate diversity, promote cultural awareness, and enhance the well-being of all students.

Career Services

Director: Saranette Williams
Career Services is responsible for the overall planning, development and implementation of the University's career services program for students and alumni.

Counseling Center

Director: Cheniqua Goode
Counseling Services provides a range of counseling services for NSU students at no charge. Services include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and educational outreach programming.

Dean of Students

Dean of Students: David Simon
The Office of the Dean of Students oversees the following areas critical to the student experience at the University: Career Services, Counseling Center, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Student Support Services, Office of Accessibility Services and International Student Services (OASIS), NSU Spartan Legion, NSU Choir,  NSU Dance Theatre and NSU Theatre Company.

Disability Services

Director/ADA Coordinator : Dr. Beverly Harris
The Office of Accessibility Services (OASIS) provides services for currently enrolled students with documented disabilities in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Housing and Residence Life

Director: ReNecia Thornton
The Office of Housing and Residence Life provides a living and learning environment that both challenges and supports the personal, social, recreational, cultural, and academic development of its residents.

International Student Services

Director: Mary Banks
The International Student Services assists international students and scholars with matters related to immigration, including processing immigration petitions. The Office also provides services and programs to enhance international students' academic and personal success.

Military Services and Veterans Affairs

Director:  Wayne Ivey
Norfolk State University offers accredited academic programs and services for active-duty military service members, veterans and their family members.   Our Military Services and Veterans Affairs staff has a deep affinity for the military and the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. Our dedicated admissions counselors, experienced military leadership, and military-trusted faculty are here to serve you. We take a holistic approach in helping to facilitate your continuing education opportunities.  

Spartan Health Center

Director: Dr. Vanessa Blowe
The Spartan Health Center, located in the Spartan Station, provides basic health services for NSU students, including diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, emergency medical care, and health education.

Student Activities AND Leadership/Student Center

Interim Director: Brianna Steele
The Office of Student Activities and Leadership is responsible for the coordination and implementation of a creative, responsive, and diverse co-curricular program at NSU. The Office is located in the Student Center, which supports a variety of cultural, educational, recreational, and social activities.

The Norfolk State University Student Center is widely known as the "hub" of the Spartan Campus Experience by providing social, recreational, cultural, leadership and educational services and programs that play a huge part of each student’s academic experience.

Student Advocacy

Director:  Michelle Marable
The mission of the Office of New Student Orientation is to assist newly-entering students in their transition to the University.  Through a collaborative, empowering, and comprehensive institutional effort, students and parents are able to holistically address academic, financial, and social needs while preparing for enrollment.

Student Advocacy is available to ensure the highest level of satisfaction possible to constituents. Concerns and complaints are investigated by working with campus officials and an appropriate resolution is provided. 

Student Support Services

Director: Dr. Danielle Williams
Student Support Services is a federally-funded program which provides a variety of supportive services for students who meet one or more of the following criteria: low income family background; first-generation college student; academically deficient; or physically disabled.
