The mission of O.A.S.I.S. (Office of Accessibility Services/International Student Services) & Assistive Technology Laboratory (AT Lab) is to promote the academic success of students with disabilities and international students through high-quality educational assistance, leveling the playing field, and providing services and accommodations. O.A.S.I.S. & the AT Lab contributes to our ethnically and culturally diverse campus while eliminating barriers and minimizing legal risks to ensure compliance with requirements for access to the students and the University. O.A.S.I.S. & the AT Lab provides leadership and guidance to enhance understanding and support; and promote academic and personal growth and development as a daily functionality.
About
O.A.S.I.S. encompasses the daily function of the O.A.S.I.S. office, the AT Lab, and the Counselors-In-Residence (CIR) Program. It reconciles administrative, faculty, staff and students' issues as they pertain to the policies and procedures, rights and responsibilities in compliance with, The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as set forth in the O.A.S.I.S. Faculty and Student Resource Guide. O.A.S.I.S. adheres to the needs and requests of the University-at-Large and all other pertinent professional organizations, remaining heedful of the University's long-range goals and mission. O.A.S.I.S. collaborates with international, national, state and local organizations, institutions and colleges to enhance and promote the educational experience of SWD in higher education.
Guides
The O.A.S.I.S. serves persons eligible for assistance under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as persons with temporary disabilities acquired as a result of illness or injury. Written documentation from a qualified professional is required before accommodations are implemented.
Assistive Technology Lab
The AT Lab exists to support the enhancement of student outcomes through the delivery of information, training, and technology support utilizing assistive technologies.
