Jonathan Mason Sr., founder and CEO of JAM Media Solutions, pastor of Northeast Baptist Church, and past international president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., the legacy of humanitarianism still rests on global leadership, excellence, and life-changing impact. In addition to his outstanding career in radio, which he turned into ownership a few years ago, Jonathan is a man who supports his community. He owns digital newspapers and stations in Iowa and North Carolina.

Additionally, Mason lettered in football, graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in News and Public Affairs with a Minor in Public Relations, and presided over both the Pan Hellenic Council and the Delta Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. He has continued to be dedicated and involved at NSU, where he proudly gave the 2015 Class of 2015 Commencement Address and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate. Mason has over 25 years of experience as a successful radio sales professional. He will be very helpful to Norfolk State's journalism and mass communications students because of his vast radio expertise. In his instruction, Mr. Mason may give useful, real-world examples. Furthermore, Mason established an endowment for students enrolled in the Mass Communications Program at Norfolk State University. In 2017, the university awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award, which is the greatest distinction given to an exceptional alumnus.
