Clifford Porter, NSU Vice President for University Advancement, has led the University’s fundraising efforts to its highest heights. He took on the task of rallying the Advancement team and University leaders to achieve Norfolk State’s most ambitious and successful fundraising campaign.

Porter is a driving force behind the institution’s bold vision for growth and transformation. Since joining NSU in 2020, Porter has championed initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement, expand philanthropic support, and position the university for long-term success.

Porter’s leadership reflects his deep commitment to NSU’s mission of empowering students and fostering innovation. As the university’s Chief Fundraising Officer, he has spearheaded strategies to elevate private giving, preparing NSU for its record-breaking Now Is Our Time Campaign, which raised more than $144 million.

With over two decades of experience in higher education advancement, Porter brings a record of securing more than $100 million in funding through alumni relations, legislative advocacy, and strategic partnerships. His expertise in aligning measurable outcomes with institutional goals has made him a trusted leader in the advancement sector.
