About the Program

ABOUT SSP-N

The Spartan Student Parent Program (SSP-N) is designed to empower student-parents by providing intentional support that recognizes their distinct obligations and challenges. The program shares college success strategies that specifically address student-parents’ academic, financial, and personal concerns, helping them build confidence and persistence throughout their educational journey.

At the heart of the program is a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes inclusiveness and belonging. Student-parents engage with peers, faculty mentors, and the broader campus community to create meaningful relationships that encourage engagement, accountability, and success. Through these connections, faculty mentoring plays a vital role in guiding students, offering academic direction, professional insight, and encouragement as they work toward their goals. By combining mentorship, community support, and access to resources, the program fosters resilience and equips student-parents with the tools necessary to successfully complete their academic journey and achieve long-term personal and professional success.
