NSU Student’s Artwork Displayed in Exhibition

Victoria Ann Jensen

Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies student Victoria Ann Jensen was selected to have her artwork on display at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art’s 2024 Made in VA Biennial exhibit. She was one of the 61 artists selected out of 699 local artists' submissions for an exhibit meant to celebrate the talents of Virginia artists.

Jensen’s displayed artwork is titled Still Life. “My art practice involves using food and the narratives shared at the kitchen table to make sense of my hyphenated gastronomy as an American woman of Dominican and European heritage,” says Jensen. “In my work, I transform food as a historical artifact (like here in Still Life) into a physical art material and material culture.”

Jensen’s artwork will be on display until January 5, 2025.
