Dear Friend of Norfolk State University Engineering,
Norfolk State University (NSU) is very interested in you!
Welcome to the Engineering Department website. The NSU Engineering Department was established in 2004, and since its inception, the Engineering Department has demonstrated a continuous commitment to the growth and development of students and faculty. Our departmental mission, to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to realize their professional goals and objectives in technology-relevant careers, is one that we enthusiastically accept.
The Engineering Department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, and our undergraduate degree program in the emerging discipline of Optical Engineering is one of only six accredited programs of its type in the U.S.
As you explore our website, you can learn about the research activities of the talented, high-achieving members of our faculty; the content, structure, and technical emphases in our undergraduate and graduate program curricula; and the accomplishments and activities of our students and alumni. You can also learn about opportunities for undergraduate and graduate support through scholarships and internships, and you can learn about opportunities for participation in technical professional societies and about our drone team.
Norfolk State University is a Historically Black University with a rich tradition of service and support to all who are interested in the pursuit of excellence.
