VCAN Scholarship

Virginia College Affordability Network (VCAN)  Scholarship

Norfolk State University is proud to present the Virginia College Affordability Network (VCAN) Scholarship. The NSU VCAN scholarship initiative will provide free tuition funding to first-year students. Eligible students must live within 45 miles proximity of NSU’s campus and be Pell-eligible. The program is specifically designed to provide college access to local students with limited financial resources and ensure the student’s completion at our university. The NSU VCAN scholarship initiative builds upon the mission of the National College Access Network; which is to build, strengthen, and empower communities committed to college access and success, especially for those who are underrepresented in postsecondary education. NSU is proud to be able to provide college access to students within our community!

To qualify students must:

  • Complete the NSU Online Application and meet admission requirements
  • Meet admissions requirements and be admitted as a first-year student
  • Be Pell Grant eligible based on FAFSA information.

  • Have a FAFSA (FAFSA Code: 003765) on file with NSU

  • Reside in a 45-mile radius of the university.

Should a student be eligible for this opportunity, students will receive additional information within their financial aid package.

Norfolk State University is committed to transforming students’ lives through exemplary teaching, research and service.  Both NSU and VCAN are committed to support post-high school education access to local Virginia residents.
