Did you know that living on campus during your college years can be an exciting and rewarding experience? Living on campus provides great opportunities for our residents to interact with a diverse group of other students, create life-long friendships, build professional networks, find study groups, get actively involved, and enrich your daily life by immersion in the whole college experience.  On-campus living is also convenient because of easy access to classes, faculty, dining options, student services, library, and campus activities! Added to the list is the fact that you pay one price for the cost of living, utilities, and a unique, transformative, and exciting residential experience! Our Housing & Residence Life team members are committed to fostering the supportive environment you need to succeed in your academic goals.

How to begin?

To begin the housing application process, please read the information below carefully and complete the entire process. Your housing application will not be considered complete until you have submitted the finished housing application and paid the appropriate housing deposit. Both the housing application and the deposit must be received by the respective deadline to guarantee housing. Housing deposits are non-refundable.

Housing Deposit Rates:

  • Spring 2020 non-refundable housing deposit for all students - $300

You can pay your Spring 2020 housing deposit online through MyNSU.
   • Log into MyNSU and click "Make a Payment".
Your Spring 2020 housing deposit can be paid at the Cashier’s Office.
   • Students may pay the $300 deposit in-person by visiting the second floor of the Student Services Center or by calling (757) 823-8545.
   • When you contact the Cashier’s Office about your payment, please mention the following:
        1. Your student ID.
        2. This payment is for the Housing Deposit for the Spring 2020 term.

  • How much does housing cost?

    We require all students to pay a $300 non-refundable housing deposit for the Fall 2019 or the Spring 2020 semester.

    If you were not a resident during the 2019-2020 school year, a $65 deposit is required for Summer 2020 semester.

  • When do I apply?

    The priority housing deadline for incoming NSU students is as follows:

    Summer 2020 Semester

    The housing application and $65 non-refundable (if not a resident during the 2019-2020 school year) deposit isn’t due, but must be completed before you are provided with your housing assignment.

    Spring 2020 Semester

    The housing application and entire $300 non-refundable deposit must be paid by::

    • November 1, 2019 (all current NSU students & all first-time students who want to live on campus for 2019-2020)

    NSU accepts housing applications submitted after the deadline, until all spaces are filled. Please note the $300 non-refundable housing deposit is due each year.
