Room Use Guidelines
The VBHEC follows the regular academic calendar. Regular semester operating hours are Monday through Friday:
8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Event organizers are permitted to enter the building for set-up purposes one-half hour prior to regular scheduled opening. Room assignments are posted on display monitors located at the front entrance.
Parking is decal controlled. Arrangements may be made with Parking Services, at (757) 368-4138. Lot 3 is reserved for special events participants. Follow the “Special Events” signs to lot 3.
If you need to reconfigure the seating for your event, you may as long as you return the room to its original seating configuration at the conclusion of each daily session. Please keep the doors closed during the event as courtesy to other center users. Our students are subject to exams at any time, so we ask that you keep the noise level to a minimum. Please do not congregate in the hallways or in the lobby area. Prior to leaving please erase the white-board, push the chairs in, remove all program materials such as flip chart pages.
Disruptive behavior, especially when it interferes with the educational opportunities of other students, will not be tolerated.
Audio or Visual Equipment
Computer lab space requests require a NSU Faculty sponsor and is coordinated with Dr. Kinlaw, Assistant Director & Technology Manager (757) 368-4158 or by email at email@example.com. All of the NSU classrooms have full media installed.
Information is posted in the Waves Café’ about catering vendors available for events at the Center.
Telephone or Photo Copier
Telephones are located in the lobby for use by participants. Please understand that the desk phones are for university business only. There is a pay photo copier available in the Learning Commons.
Vending machines are located near the lounge area (through the double doors) on the first floor on the Princess Anne Road side of the building. For assistance, please see staff in the Learning Commons, room 146.
