B.A. of Arts in History / Military Science (Army)

A degree in History provides students with a critical intellectual framework to assess and understand human affairs. The degree is made up of 120 credit hours that include classes in History, Geography, Political Science and Military Science among others. This degree program is open to students who have been accepted into NSU Army ROTC battalion.

What to expect as a history student

Expect to begin developing how to be a creative and flexible problem solver who can make sound judgments and communicate your ideas effectively. Your courses will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of how the major civilizations have shaped human behavior over time and space. You should have a working knowledge and an appreciation of the world's cultural diversity. This program is tailored to produce knowledgeable military leaders prepared for today's military environment.

Curriculum

For the History-Military Science (Army) Sequence, 36 hours in history are required, of which 21 must be at the 300 or 400 level, with a minimum of 6 credit hours of non-Western history. Twenty-six credit hours in Military Science are required. Juniors may receive 4 semester hours credit for leadership development assessment course, but these credits will not be a part of scheduling.
