NSU Receives Sentara Cares Grant

NSU is in the process of receiving a sub-award from EVMS to help address substance use issues among women who are pregnant and/or parenting. The award is part of a $1.5 million grant to EVMS from Sentara as part of its Sentara Cares grants. ODU will receive a sub-award similar to NSU's, in part, because the funding is to support academic partnerships.

Sentara’s collaborative grant between EVMS, ODU, and NSU will allow for research to dive deeper into this issue to solve it.

Substance use disorder in those who are pregnant and parenting is a growing public health issue, and it impacts all types of communities and families. To lead to a healthier and happier next generation of children, we are educating and improving our care for these families.
