Norfolk State University President Javaune Adams-Gaston, Ph.D., has been selected to serve on the President’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The appointment was recently announced by President Joe Biden.

The President’s Board seeks to increase the capacity of HBCUs to provide the highest-quality education to its students and continue serving as an engine of opportunity. The advisory board comes under the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities.


Pres. Adams-Gaston Participates in Thurgood Marshall College Fund Presidents Event

NSU President Javaune Adams-Gaston, Ph.D., was in Washington, D.C. Thursday, April 7, with other HBCU presidents for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund HBCU Fly-In event. They met with Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Senators, and Dr. Adams-Gaston got an opportunity to sit at Vice President Harris' desk. See the photos below.
