CO2 mineralization in Concrete
Our lab focuses on CO₂ mineralization technologies that convert industrial CO₂ emissions into stable carbonates within cementitious systems. By utilizing industrial waste, calcium silicates, and supplementary materials, we accelerate the carbonation process to permanently sequester CO₂ while enhancing concrete performance.
Blended Cements
Our research advances blended cement systems by incorporating Portland limestone, carbon-rich products, slags, coal ash, and novel supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). These blends reduce clinker content and CO₂ emissions while enhancing durability and performance.
Policy for Net-Zero Technologies

Our research aligns with evolving policy frameworks aimed at achieving net-zero emissions in the cement sector. We explore both production-side policies—such as R&D support, tax incentives, carbon pricing, and emissions standards—and use-side policies like incentives for recycling and building codes that mandate embodied carbon limits.
