Praxis Lab

Praxis Lab

Come in and enhance your skills!

The Virginia State Department of Education has put in place policies that require pre-service teacher education candidates to pass Praxis I. The Praxis Lab was created to enhance the understanding and skills of basic reading, writing, mathematic, and other content subjects of Norfolk State University Teacher Education students. In addition, students will have access to LockDown Browser for their classes. We hope students will use this lab as an added tool to pass the Praxis I, VCLA, and Praxis II exams.

Please come by the Praxis Lab (Bozeman RM 161) to enroll and take the Praxis Core Skills and VCLA practice tests through Edmentum.

Professors who would like to schedule usage of the Praxis Lab for their classes or have any questions can email Michael Eakins or Kimberlee Lovelace.

For Education Week the Praxis Lab hosted an Open House for students, faculty, and staff. During that time, we shared information about how to utilize the lab effectively, what is ETS Praxis, what is Edmentum, and that soon LockDown Browser will be added to our desktops. Guest participated in games where they won big and small prizes. We like to thank all who took the time out of their day to come by and spread the information they learned about the Praxis Lab. Don't forget to check by the lab for snacks as we may have some!
