Our Team

Career Services is responsible for the overall planning, development and implementation of the University's career services program for students and alumni.  Our team works directly with students by providing programs, activities and resources designed to enhance their professional presence and fundamental skills for workplace success. Through strategic collaborations with campus departments, students are engaged in co-curricular experiences that will ensure they are competitive in today’s ever-changing global economy.

Senior Boot Camp

Learn to Manage Life after College

Career Services presents,  Senior Boot Camp - How to be an Adult.  Seniors are you "Ready for the World"?  Career Services will offer a series of workshops to help you to prepare for life after college.

JcPenney Suite Up Event

Need Professional Attire?

JCPenney of Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, VA is partnering with the office of Career Services to provide professional clothing at a hugely discounted price. During the event, students can purchase suits, dresses, sport coats, pants, skirts, blouses, ties and shoes to build a career wardrobe.

We are hosting this private event after the JCPenney store closes so we can give personalized attention to students and help them choose the best career wear for career fairs, internships, and job interviews. Norfolk State University Career Services staff, along with members of the JCPenney team, will be on-hand to offer insights into the latest career fashion trends, how a suit should fit, what size to buy, and how to tie a tie.

Career Services Roundtable

What are your most challenging issues? Why solve them alone when you can consult other talented and creative peers who have dealt with and overcome similar challenges.

Join an intimate group of career services professionals at this NACE roundtable to discuss recommended practices for everything from reporting and metrics to coaching techniques and program marketing.
