Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work (Ph.D.)

Earn a PhD Online or On Campus

The PhD in Social Work is offered to full and part-time students, in-person and online. If you are interested in making a difference in society, our program is for you.  We prepare students to become social work scholars as well as community leaders, researchers, or policy analysts.

Our program is designed to address current social problems that affect the lives of individuals, families, communities, and society. The program is unique in its focus on underserved populations, especially social work with African-American families. Our graduates become leaders of the profession who can facilitate change, advance social work knowledge, promote a scientific basis for social work practice, and advocate for social and economic justice in a rapidly changing and global world.
