Dr. Shell Represents NSU at Summer Professional Development Conferences

Dr. Tonya M. Shell,  Interim Associate Director for Residential Conduct & Community Standards, continues to champion academic innovation and student-centered practices through her work within the Division of Student Affairs.

This summer, she represented Norfolk State University at several premier professional development experiences across the country. She participated in the  Association for Student Conduct Administrators Academy in Detroit, Michigan, where she explored student accountability frameworks, followed by the Higher Education Case Managers Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was acknowledged for her innovative strategies in prevention education and restorative justice.

In addition, Dr. Shell engaged in enrichment and collaborative discussions with higher education leaders at Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston (Cambridge, Massachusetts), and Brown University (Rhode Island), deepening her exploration of student wellness, compliance, and cultural reform in campus conduct systems and strengthening student engagement, especially in the areas of Housing & Residence Life and Community Standards.
