Fall 2020 Move-In Information

Welcome to the Spartan Residential Experience! We are excited that you will be joining us this fall and we have been working hard over the past few weeks with our internal and external campus stakeholders to plan a safe, healthy and valuable residential experience in your new home on campus. Although we are still working to ensure our residential communities adhere to local, state and federal guidelines, we wanted to share pertinent information because we know you are eager to begin planning your arrival on campus.

First-time Freshmen and New Transfer Students Move-In
First-time freshmen and new transfer residential students will move into their assigned space on Saturday, August 22nd and Sunday, August 23rd.

Returning Students Move-In
Returning students will move into their assigned space on Monday, August 24th and Tuesday, August 25th.

*Residents will not be allowed to move into their assigned residential community until their designated move-in date and check-in appointment time.

A link will be provided in your housing assignment letter for you to select a designated move-in date and time. Move-in times will be extended to promote physical distancing and to reduce the threat of coronavirus. To maximize the health and safety of our residents, there will be no volunteers available to assist during move-in. Residents will be limited to no more than two guests to assist you with moving into your space. Residents and guests must wear masks upon arrival to campus. We also encourage you to bring gloves and cleaning supplies. Residents will receive a Move-In Guide and other important housing information in your move-in packet via your NSU email account.

Your Spartan Residential Experience Team will begin distributing housing assignments on Monday, June 29th. Notifications will be sent daily until all residents have received their Fall 2020 housing information. While logistics planning continues for Fall 2020 Move-In, we ask that you be patient with us and know that we are working diligently to make necessary changes to create a safe, clean and healthy residential environment for our residents and staff.

Questions? Please feel free to contact us at (757) 823-8407 or email us at housing@nsu.edu. Our office is currently closed to walk-in visitors but we have staff available to assist you on Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. However, we will be extending our hours of operation during the Fall 2020 move-in process. These hours will be posted here soon!

As a reminder, remember to check your NSU email account for important updates and more information. We’re excited to see you in the fall!
