Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring

The Dr. Patricia Lynch Stith Student Success Center (PLSSSC) Peer Tutoring Program assists students with becoming independent learners by sharing strategies that positively impact their academic achievement, including developing and strengthening course skills. The tutoring program offers free one-on-one sessions focused on each student’s academic needs as well as small group sessions where students can share thoughts and course information. PLSSSC’s tutoring program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at the Level II stage to provide creditability and set standards for the program.

NSU also offers online tutoring via SMARTHINKING, a free online tool for NSU students. SMARTHINKING provides assistance in academic areas, including writing, basic mathematics to Calculus, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Accounting, and Spanish. Student interact live with a SMARTHINKING tutor to improve academic performance and increase chances of reaching educational goals.
