Next Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

Once you have been admitted please follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.

  • Step Two - Financial Aid Application & Award Status

  • Step Three - Confirm Your Enrollment

    Step Three: Confirm your Enrollment

    Navigate to MyNSU to access the link to set-up your NSU email account. Upon completion, please click the Spartan Self-Service tab within MyNSU to pay the required deposits.  Once you have made a payment, you will receive a confirmation email with your NSU New Student Orientation code. 
    Payments are also accepted by calling Norfolk State University's Cashier Office.  Please call 757-823-8545 for assistance.

  • Step Four - Complete On-Campus Housing Application

    Step Four: Complete the on-campus housing application

    The housing application fee is $300.

  • Step Five - Complete & Submit Required Health Forms

    Step Five: Complete and submit required health forms

    Please return completed health forms to the Spartan Health Center

    • Deadline is two weeks before classes start
    • Demographics, health history, vaccine sheets mandatory
    • Physical exam waivered if unavailable due to COVID 19 pandemic. 
    • Flu shots strongly advised prior to the semester.


    Priority deadline for Spring Semester is January 13, Fall Semester August 1*


  • Step Six - Register for New Student Orientation

    Step Six: Register for transfer orientation

    Orientation is required for all students enrolling in fall and spring terms (mini term and summer sessions excluded).  The fee for orientation is $100.  This must be paid prior to reserving your orientation date. 

    Payments can be made through your MyNSU account or over the phone at 757-823-8545.  Within 24-hours after you have made your payment, you will receive a confirmation email with the NSU New Student Orientation registration link. The next orientation session for the Spring 2021 semester is January 20. The last day to register for the session in Monday, January 18 at 12 p.m. 

Mini-Term or Summer Semester

For New Transfer Students Beginning Classes​ in a Mini-Term or Summer Semester:

New Student Orientation is not required for students enrolled in the mini term session.  If you are transferring a minimum of 60 credits, advising and registration will be in your academic department.  If you are transferring less than 60 credits, you will be advised and registered for courses in the Patricia Lynch Stith Student Success Center.  Below are the links for your respective Academic College or School for your major.
