Dr. Karen Hills Pruden, NSU assistant vice president for Human Resources, was recently honored by the Virginia Beach Coalition at the group’s Leading the Charge for Equity program. Dr. Pruden was recognized for her leadership in Virginia Beach as president of the Virginia Beach NAACP. In addition, she is a member of the Mayor’s African American Roundtable, which is proposing a Citizen Review Board and she is a member of the Hampton Roads Community Advisory Committee of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. The committee is exploring Black giving efforts. Dr. Pruden was among eight female leaders honored by the Virginia Beach Coalition, an organization that works for the protection of everyone’s constitutional right to participate in the democratic process
