NSU SFS Cybercorps Scholarship for Service Program

The Norfolk State University (NSU) Scholarship for Service (SFS) program is administered and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in cooperation with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Scholarship benefits include full tuition and fees, a cost-of living stipend, and reimbursement for travel expenses and professional development. Students awarded a scholarship incur a service obligation to a governmental agency upon graduation from NSU and are required to participate in a paid internship during the summer sessions. (more)

NCAE-C CyberSecurity Scholarship

The NCAE-C CyberSecurity Scholarship is designed to support students who are transitioning to Cybersecurity. The grant will provide scholarship funds of $5,000 to each participant from Spring 2024 through Spring 2025. Funded by the Department of Defense through NCAE-C Workforce Development grant 32934-05.

Department of Defense Cybersecurity Scholarship Program (DoD CySP)

About the Program

The DoD Cybersecurity Scholarship Program is a scholarship program offered by the Department of Defense to students enrolled at Institutions which are Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD). NSU has been a designated CAE-CD by the NSA and DHS since 2009. This scholarship is a 1- or 2-year scholarship which provides full tuition, fees, and books plus a stipend of $27,000 for living expenses to juniors, seniors in a cyber security related degree or $32,000 for graduate students in a cybersecurity related program. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2023

Eligibility Requirements

Before applying, please review the criterion below to determine your eligibility to apply. To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be a United States citizen, 18 years and older
  • Be a full-time NSU student (Outside employment won’t be allowed while you are a DoD CySP scholarship recipient)
  • Be pursuing an academic program in cybersecurity at Norfolk State University
  • Be completing a first undergraduate or first graduate degree
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher for undergraduate students and a GPA of 3.5 or above for graduate students
  • Be eligible for federal employment
  • Be able to obtain a security clearance.
