Brief Biography
Dr. Krishnan Prabhakaran is an Associate Professor of Biology at Norfolk State University. He has a Master’s and PhD degree in Human Physiology from University of Madras with PostDoctoral training in NeuroToxicology from Purdue University. He currently teaches undergraduate courses in biological science, Human Anatomy & Physiology with associated labs. His research expertise is on neurodegeneration and he has numerous publications and citations, contributing significantly to the field of neurodegenerative disorders.
Research Interests
- Investigating how environmental and chemical factors contribute to disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
- Studying the impact of oxidative stress on cellular functions and its role in neurodegeneration.
- Exploring how mitochondrial dysfunctions are linked to neurodegenerative diseases.
