Counseling Education Admissions Requirements
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
- Complete an NSU online graduate school application along with full payment of application fee
- A minimum undergraduate or graduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate) as well as be in good academic standing (i.e. Disposition, Professionalism, and Grades) with your previous institution/program of study
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty or employers familiar with the applicant's academic and professional background
- A personal statement of the applicant’s professional interests and goals
- Resume
- Admissions Interview with Counseling Faculty once a completed application has been submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies (You will be contacted by the department to set up an interview)
*Please Note: If a completed application for admission has not been submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies by October 15 (Spring Admissions) and April 15 (Fall Admissions) you will not be eligible for an admissions interview
