FACE IT Scholars Learning Community

A First-year Learning Community

FACE IT Scholars is a professional development and mentoring program for 25 undergraduate psychology majors (or minors).  It is designed to provide mentorship, exposure, and experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate students with interest in psychology behavioral health professions.

 As a learning community FACE IT Scholars will aim to: 

  • Assist students with their transition to college and socialization into their scholarly and professional identities.
  • Provide a community of support and space to engage in varied conversations (i.e. related to barriers, challenges, and opportunities) which aim to fill gaps in knowledge or restructure counterproductive thinking/behavior.
  • Increase social capital through network-building.
  • Help Scholars to develop transferrable skills, and  
  • Promote retention, engagement, and the use of available resources.
