Academic Divisions

The academic division is made up of two colleges, three professional schools, an off-campus center, and academic support programs. The colleges are the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology. The schools are the School of Business, the School of Education, and the Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work. Thirty bachelor's degree programs, two associate degree programs, sixteen master's degree programs, and three doctoral degree programs are offered through these schools.

Continuing Education

The Norfolk State University Virginia Beach Higher Education Center and Continuing Education Department provides multi-educational services and opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students, as well as lifelong learners throughout the Greater Hampton Roads community and beyond, to help them accomplish their goals, achieve their highest potential, and have a better quality of life.

Community Education at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center provides non-traditional students a diverse selection of opportunities for personal enrichment, to increase knowledge in a variety of subjects, and to increase or obtain new career skills.

Writing Center

Located on the first floor of the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library, the new Writing Center will be a place where students can master the art of writing and explore challenging educational issues. As a gathering place for scholars across all disciplines, the Writing Center will help students become more versatile and effective writers, readers and thinkers.
