Dr. Justin MosesDr. Justin L. Moses
Vice President for Operations and Chief Strategist for Institutional Effectiveness

Dr. Justin L. Moses is the Vice President for Operations and Chief Strategist for Institutional Effectiveness. In this role he oversees several departments including Communications and Marketing, Enrollment Management, Human Resources, Institutional Equity, Information Technology, and Institutional Research. He also serves as an advisor to the President with regard to strategic initiatives and organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Dr. Moses also collaborates with the executive team and provide leadership with projects and initiatives to increase efficiency, effectiveness and technology.

Dr. Moses has an extensive history in higher education leadership and has held various administrative positions at The Ohio State University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Most recently, he served as an Associate Vice Provost at Virginia Commonwealth University where he managed a number of student affairs departments, facilities, and programs including Student Health Services, Recreational Sports, Student Wellness, Student Accessibility, Student Conduct, Title IX, and Collegiate Recovery Programs.

Dr. Moses holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate from the Michael E. Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. He also earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Executive Advisor to the President and Board of Visitors for Policy, Compliance, and University Ombudsman​

Ericke S. Cage serves as Executive Advisor to the President and Board of Visitors for Policy, Compliance, and University Ombudsman. As a member of NSU’s executive management team, Cage provides senior policy counsel to the University President and Board of Visitors on a wide range of issues impacting higher education administration and governance. Cage leads NSU’s policy making process, serves as the University’s senior compliance executive, and supports the advancement of an institutional culture of dignity and respect by acting as the organizational Ombudsman. As a senior advisor to the President, Cage provides confidential policy counsel, analyses, and executive level support on issues related to university governance, strategic planning, and supports information sharing between the President’s Office and NSU Board of Visitors. A native of Halifax County, Virginia, Cage is a distinguished graduate of Virginia Tech and the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets where he earned degrees in Political Science and Leadership. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers Law School and a Masters of Law in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from The George Washington University. Cage is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force's Air Command and Staff College and the University of Virginia’s Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. He brings more than a decade of public policy experience to the university.

Tanya WhiteTanya S. White, Special Assistant to the President

Tanya S. White serves as Special Assistant to the President. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Special Assistant to the President partners with the President and Executive Cabinet Staff, and collaborates with individuals across campus and within the community and Commonwealth to support the President’s initiatives and the University’s strategic plan to build an atmosphere of coordination and clear understanding of the institution’s mission, vision, and goals. The Special Assistant to the President is a role that combines administrative duties with representational duties that handle a wide range of time-sensitive, confidential administrative responsibilities while positively representing the President’s Office internally and externally.  White also focuses on ensuring comprehensive Executive Office oversight of activities, as well as being responsible for coordinating a wide range of mission critical administrative and executive tasks. Originally from the Hampton, White has over twenty-three years of higher education experience with the Commonwealth and served at Old Dominion University in various capacities before coming to Norfolk State. Her most recent position was Executive Administrative Manager for the Division of Finance and Administration in the Vice President’s Office for fourteen years. White earned a bachelor’s of psychology from Regent University and a master’s in Management and Leadership from Liberty University.  She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Abilene University with an emphasis in Higher Education Leadership. White is a member of the Virginia Governmental Employees Association (VGEA); American Association of University Women (AAUW); and the NAPAHE-Professionals Supporting Higher Education Leaders.

Senior Technical and Finance Analyst to the President​

Irma G. Thomas serves as Senior Technical and Finance Analyst to the President, and also works closely with the Chief of Staff and Executive Advisor to the President and Board of Visitors for Policy, Compliance and University Ombudsman.  Her duties include monitoring the NSU Compliance Calendar and serving as team lead for the NSU Strategic Plan Workgroup and President’s Office Assessment Group.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Norfolk State University and a master’s degree in Administrative Management/Business from Bowie State University.  Mrs. Thomas has a diverse background including tenures at Virginia Commonwealth University, Gallaudet University, and several HBCUs. As an employee with twenty years of service to the Commonwealth, she is a member of the Greater Hampton Roads Connects Team (GHRC), the Association for Institutional Researchers (AIR,) and a former board member of the Virginia Association for Management Analysis and Planning (VAMAP).

Office Manager/Board Liaison

As Office Manager/Board Liaison, Mrs. Allbritton provides support to the NSU Board of Visitors and facilitates the workflow in the Office of the President. She has been with the President's Office since July 2000. Prior to that she worked for the Office of Legislative Affairs and the NSU Athletics Foundation for approximately six years.  As a member of the NSU Association of Educational Office Professionals, she has served as Vice President, Administrative Liaison to the President and chaired numerous committees. Mrs. Allbritton is currently a member of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. On the national level, she has served as a member of the Long-Range Planning Committee, the Higher Education Committee, the Public Relations and Publications Committee and the Foundation Scholarship Committee. Mrs. Allbritton attended Norfolk State University.

Scheduler and​ Financial Services Specialist I

Mrs. Gaymon serves as the Scheduler and Financial Services Specialist I in the Office of the President. Her responsibilities include managing the President’s daily schedule and all aspects of the President’s travel including assisting with university social functions that involve the President. She is also responsible for all accounting and financial transactions on behalf of the President’s Office and the Board of Visitors.  Prior to her appointment in April 2004, Mrs. Gaymon was employed by NSU's Center for Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the NSU Association of Educational Office Professionals.

Van W. MurrayVan W. Murray
Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Staff

Van W. Murray is the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Staff and provides an array of professional services and administrative support. She is also responsible for performing a variety of distinctive functions to assist the Executive Advisor to the President and Compliance/Policy Officer. Mrs. Murray interacts with university officers, faculty, staff, students, the community, and public officials to fulfill special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff. Previously, she enjoyed tenures at Albany State University. Mrs. Murray who supervises the Presidential Interns programs at the University is a graduate of Albany Technical College and the University of Phoenix.
